{"id":499,"date":"2017-07-07T11:00:33","date_gmt":"2017-07-07T10:00:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bathwickparishes.org\/stmarys\/?page_id=499"},"modified":"2025-08-29T17:29:52","modified_gmt":"2025-08-29T16:29:52","slug":"choral-bursaries","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/bathwickparishes.org\/stmarys\/choral-bursaries\/","title":{"rendered":"Choral bursaries"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"su-spacer\" style=\"height:20px\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"su-spacer\" style=\"height:20px\"><\/div>\n<h2><strong>ST MARY&#8217;S<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>is offering<\/p>\n<h2><strong>CHORAL BURSARIES<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>to university students<\/p>\n<p>to contribute to its long and special musical tradition.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The church has an adult choir which sings for the 10:30am Choral Mass on Sundays, Choral Evensong at 6pm on the first Sunday of the month and for other services on special occasions e.g. major Saints&#8217; Days and Festivals.<\/li>\n<li>The choir performs a wide repertoire of Mass settings and anthems.<\/li>\n<li>St Mary&#8217;s is a busy and beautiful church with a wonderful acoustic and fine Willis organ.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Ideally, applicants should be prepared to commit themselves to rehearsals and choral services during the university term and, if at all possible, at Christmas and Easter.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Good sight-reading ability and confidence in holding a line is desirable.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Bursaries will be offered on the basis of \u00a315 per Friday rehearsal + \u00a320 per Service.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The choir rehearses on Friday evenings from 7:15pm to 8:45pm.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Find out more about St Mary&#8217;s on our website or come along one Sunday at 10:30am.\u00a0 The Director of Music, Gary Desmond, would be happy to meet prospective singers at any time.<\/p>\n<p>Gary Desmond<\/p>\n<p>Mob. 07980 818445<\/p>\n<p>garyc.desmond@gmail.com<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ST MARY&#8217;S is offering CHORAL BURSARIES to university students to contribute to its long and special musical tradition.
