Silver Sounds of the Roman Seicento
Musicke in the Ayre’s soprano trio line-up (Maria Danishvar, Jane Hunt and Philippa Neaverson) are Romeward bound to St Mary’s with their latest programme of delectables from the Roman early Baroque. Din Ghani will be using his archlute and baroque guitar to accompany them in music by composers working in Rome during the 17th century. The wealth and power of the noble families associated with the Vatican attracted some of the best composers, as well as some of the newly emerging professional female singers who were much sought after in that period: some of this music would have been written for them.
