ST MARY’S
is offering
CHORAL BURSARIES
to university students
to contribute to its long and special musical tradition.
- The church has an adult choir which sings for the 10:30am Choral Mass on Sundays, Choral Evensong at 6pm on the first Sunday of the month and for other services on special occasions e.g. major Saints’ Days and Festivals.
- The choir performs a wide repertoire of Mass settings and anthems.
- St Mary’s is a busy and beautiful church with a wonderful acoustic and fine Willis organ.
Ideally, applicants should be prepared to commit themselves to rehearsals and choral services during the university term and, if at all possible, at Christmas and Easter.
Good sight-reading ability and confidence in holding a line is desirable.
Bursaries will be offered on the basis of £15 per Friday rehearsal + £20 per Service.
The choir rehearses on Friday evenings from 7:15pm to 8:45pm.
